One reads of primal languages which were the gateway between people and objects. Words that made a stirring in the world when spoken, words of true meaning and power.

Admittedly most of this comes from fantasy but epics hold them too, be they homerian or the sankrit epics.

Its a nice concept to read about, but I didn't feel really, where it came from, till I saw the following.

I reacted quite oddly. I had this compelling feeling to return home. It might have been the beauty of the word itself, the terse nature of the quote, the art and layout which worked on me or all three; but I get it now. The power of the word.

Frills, Frippery and Placidity

I won't be judgemental and say women, I'll say women of my office (WMO).
But I am so tired of them. They have no energy no interests beyond very feminine concerns such as clothes, weddings, engagements, relatives, makeup etc etc.
I am so tired of it. I like the power and enthusiasm in people who feel and have curiosity and interests in a wider world. I am guilty of some of this but forbid that I am so bad.

I want adventure in the great wide somewhere
I want it more than I can tell... (quoting Disney again)

Thats why I adore my friends. They're great fun, they have eyes open to possibilities, I can talk to them.

Stupidity and Sadness

"I don't want to see greece for I think my standards have been set high by seeing Rome and Venice"

Scorn
Contempt

and at home Saranya trembles with the force of her own emotions as she cries at the helplessness of her situation. (bowed head)

I'm restlessing. There are wings on my ankles and buzzing blood in my ears. What is this office to hohld me down? Gravity and shards of glass keep from shouldering my way through the window, but the elevator is an equally respectable option. However what on earth do I do once I am out?
I ought to sew on missing buttons
I ought to give my clothes to the salvation army
I ought to exercise
I ought to stock up for the weekend

I dont want to do any of these things, I dont know what I want to do. I feel like lying down and letting my dreams entertain me. Hold on, there are movies running. Noone I know is free for a movie today. Wine and pizza?
Ha...

Edit: I've done some of my pressing oughts already. My flute has been sent for repair. I wait, I hanker for them to call back. Fluuute.

Pilgrimage

As the world spins about the sun again, I am going to celebrate with my annual Tolkienity.

Listen, O wanderers by my fire, as I tell you the story of Frodo nine fingered and the ring of doom...

This is something I wanted to blog for a long time. I don't know quite how to start and how much to explain but you should hear the story first.

There was a cockroach and my sister hit it. She dislikes them intensely. However the hit didn't kill the roach and it was merely stunned. She turned to me and said, "Do you think there is life after this one? An afterlife?"

Curiously I looked at her as I answered, "No."

She said, not quite meeting my eyes, "I don't either. That's why we need to be careful how we take it away." And she then killed the roach.

For some reason this incident struck me strongly. The careful weighing of such a small action and then not letting the paralysis of indecision take her after such minute thought. And whatever else may strike you, Bloggy.

Flute

My flute is not working again. I feel horribly sad, as horribly sad as I could feel at the moment. I only got it fixed in december. Perhaps I should buy a newer and better model?

I was getting so into practising too :(
