A teenage couple arranged and planned the murder of the girl's family because they refused to let her see him. Everyone was shot and killed, the house was burned down. It's terrible. And then at the end the news articles all mention the family dog.

I quote "On the Caffeys' vast wooded plot, the family's black Labrador waited in vain by the ashes of the incinerated house and a burned van for his owners to return- far from the food and water onlookers have left under the yellow police tape cordoning off the property"

I love dogs more than people.
