The Destroyer

Sometimes you have tear down facades to build again. But then you think what about the human cost?
But that's socialism. Yet, while I am really totally logical and capitalistic, I have a soft heart. you know this.

How much it costs me to be wise (mocking smile). I bow before it all. Yet I am hurt and pained through it all.

Thinking through the industrial revolution. Those first strikes. The first changing economy. the evolving social structures that went with it all. I am 'struck'. We haven't moved far beyond that. Especially in this part of the world.

A dreamer is one who can only find his way y moonlight and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world - Oscar Wilde

I am a skeptic. Does that make me the lazy person who pulls the sheet over her head when the morning  comes?
I guess its a symptom of how tired I am that I haven't talked to you in forever

My rabbits are digging in their travel box

My stomach refuses to keep food down but I'm hungry

My money plant is dry but I poured a lot, a lot of water into it

My blanky is blue and beautiful

I walked around a mall for an hour wanting to shop but couldn't think of anything I needed

The opening ceremony was fun and I now want the soundtrack to the 'Pandemonium' piece

I am dreading Monday, I have a lot of work but I haven't worked at all this weekend

I have not read a good book in at least a month and yet I seem to spend all my spare time reading. Need to improve my yield rate

Salsa is fun but I need to be less lazy and get to class in time

I am very sleepy. Goodnight!

Higgsy!!!!

"Reliable rumors couldn’t wait, and they indicate that the experiments are seeing much the same thing as last year in this year’s new data: strong hints of a Higgs around 125 GeV. The main channel investigated is the gamma-gamma channel where they are each seeing about a 4 sigma signal."

Plot fail

I finally decided to start writing again today. I wrote out an hour in someone's life as a writing exercise but when I sat down to think about a plot to actually work on I felt frustrated. I can't help but shoehorn me and my life into any plot that came up

Honestly?
  • A consultant in a parallel universe ponders the morality of strategy for a company which hunts pleisosaurids
  • A man thinks about the valuation of time travelling technology
  • An economist grapples with recession in a post apocalyptic society
  • A demon inhabits the television in a hotel room and plots to take over all the televisions in the hotel
  • A restaurant and its clientele thrive by the edge of a cliff where the edge of great planetary storm rages

Underground

I read Wool before it was famous

I am going to look back on this post and smile with satisfaction.

Long live Hugh Howey

Wastrel

Hand axes and stone age
Giant 27 feet crocodiles who ate African Eve possibly
Footprints in the ash

What a mess of monsters and migration is in our past
I wish we had ancestral memory - "There we came from, and no further will I go"
I wish I could stop dreaming about prehistoric Man/Apes so I could go to sleep and wake up fresh for my meeting in the morning
